Nov 13, 2011 Day 3: A little rain didn't stop those walkers, so it wasn't about to stop the Boot Camp Babes either! The entire weekend was wonderful and we are so proud of each and every 3-Day walker - thank you so much for stepping up in the fight against breast cancer!!!

Day 2: Boot Camp Babes were up in North Scottsdale again today. The walkers were a little more weary and the wind was a little more gusty, but that didn't stop us from cheering those fantastic walkers on. Keep stepping ... only one day to go!!!

Day 1: Boot Camp Babes set up at Hayden and Shea is Scottsdale today to provide the walkers with fun, photos, ribbon ties, water, pop, wet cloths, and candy. It was so great seeing all those women (and men) out walking for the cause...keep it up!!!

Team Boot Camp Babes walked 60 miles in the fight against breast cancer during the 2010 Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk. Our team of 26 crossed the finish line and raised over $74,000 (in the top 3 for fundraising in Arizona!) and we were so inspired by the support along the route that this year we are putting together a Boot Camp Babes cheer station. We'll be out there every day supporting the walkers and helping them reach their goals. Many of us have been touched by this disease. It was a life-changing experience that we are honored to have been a part of and this is our way to pay it forward!
| The net proceeds from the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure™ are
invested in breast cancer research and community programs.
Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, that promise became Susan G. Komen for the Cure and launched the global breast cancer movement. Today, Komen for the Cure is the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Komen Race for the Cure® and the Komen 3-Day for the Cure, the organization has invested nearly $1.5 billion to fulfill its promise, becoming the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world. |
